New blog!

Hey, I started a brand new blog about Atheism in america... and rightfully titled, "www.atheisminamerica.blogspot.com" I've been itching the atheism itch for quite awhile (the summer) and most of the people that I are subscribed to the blog are religious, and I'd really appreciate it if you would follow the new ones and give comments. I'd really like to hear your guys' thoughts and it'd be great to have some discoussions and (unformal, and nonagressive) debates.

First Atheist President

Note: This isn't supposed to offend ANYONE

Is what I'd love to be. I think that would be pretty amazing.

Alot of presidents have been accused of not being theistic like Abraham Lincoln, and Thomas Jefferson and even George Washington. 3 of our countries greatest leaders all possibly Atheists. I think everyone has a very slanted view on Atheism that needs to be sorted out.

"Why don't Atheists just shut the hell up?"

Well, we've got to listen to a lot of religious stuff, for Atheist students... every day. "I pledge allegiance, to the flag of the United States of America. and to the republic for which it stands, one nation UNDER GOD indivisible with liberty and justice for all" and not to mention the "In god we trust" on the currency.

Atheists are similar to a minority group. We all fight for the seperation of church and state. I don't believe that religion has any place in a court room, legislature, or even in the executive office.

One thing that needs to be cleared up is that Atheists are not anarchists... just because we don't want the ten commandments in front of a court house doesn't mean that we want murder and incest to be legal. We just don't believe that it should all be based soley because "god" talked to a group of people very conveniently when no one else was around... and these people just happened to be strong leaders.

So, as the first Atheist President... I would, open the pledge of allegiance so the word god isn't in there, take it off of the currency, pass laws based on morals and ethics... not based on what the bible says, and not let religion control the government like it is right now... because after all, religious wars are just about who has the better imaginary friend.

Also, one thing I'd like to point out... I'm 100% atheist, not agnostics... Agnostics are unsure of the existence of god. Atheists BELIEVE there is no god. I do not know if there is a god or not, however of what evidence I've seen... I believe that there is no god. And you can't call me agnostic because religous people don't know if there is a god or not... they just believe there is.

Success

Hey everyone!

Well, I'm back home finally. It's been a pretty amazing week. I did some workshops and I absolutely got the edge.

Taking home an 8th place Trophy for Help Desk was no small feat. I competed against the elite 100+ students from 50 states plus the U.S. Territories. I was excited to know that I was in the top 10 out of the NATION. I feel that nothing can stop my success now.

And now that it's over... It's time to start again. I am going to be recruiting for FBLA for my high school for the 2009-10 school year. If you are a) at my highschool and b) interested PLEASE let me know as soon as possible. I'd like to get this ball rolling.

Stop acting like dumbasses.

Okay, so my farewell; end of the year blog is going to be discussing... high school teenagers; not all of them, but a majority. I'm pretty pissed off right now, so

First, don't fuck around with relationships.

So many people feel that it is an obligation to have a boyfriend / girlfriend; and then you take the popular stance "I'm going to focus on other things than boys/girls", and then go back to what you were doing an hour later because you "fell in love". Well; what you all consider "love" isn't love... I'm not even sure it's enough to call it lust! Remember, what you do in college decides what happens later on. If you want to work at McDonald's cleaning up the diapers in the bathroom for 8 hours a day making less than 12 bucks an hour... have at it. Everyone knows the world needs some deep friars.

Now if you are 14-25 with this job, it's acceptable as long as you're planning for something else. Everyone should want the best out of themselves. Settling for less is called quitting. You are never stuck in a position you cannot get out of. It's not going to be easy, but you can get out of it. Take for example Chris Gardener, who was portrayed by Will Smith in the pursuit of happiness. He struggled with being homeless and raising a son alone in San Fransisco, California. Today he is a millionaire and makes a lot of money telling people his story as a motivational speaker.

There are many people in this world that will tell you "there is not a situation you cannot get out of, if you try hard enough."

So going back to relationships... obviously there is an attraction between young men and women... it's not rocket science; it's biology, but that is beside the point. Don't feel desperate to have someone to date.

I'm not saying that all high school relationships are a bad thing... but a lot of them end in fighting. Just remember... take it slow.

Second, my history teacher's favorite quote "Excuses are like armpits; everyone's got them... and they all stink"

In social situations, I evaluate people on how much they bring to the conversation... if you just say "iran is entering a civil war" you're not doing much, but if you can clearly explain why, and can talk for awhile about it... A+ for you. People who call themselves "clutzy, stupid, dumb, bitchy, etc." piss me off because they are putting them selves down to a level they think they need to be at. Not listening to someone while they are explaining stuff because you say "oh, I'm to stupid to understand that" well... you're probably not. But the fact you won't listen tells me that you are!

Now; many people I know have excuses "I'm fat, I'm too skinny, I'm not smart enough, I don't understand that, I was raped, I'm too poor, my parents don't like me."

Those are stupid excuses, get rid of them. Chris Gardener applied for an unpaid internship at a business, he used a made up address and no one know/could tell he was poor. It didn't matter, he was human and he didn't want any sympathy from anyone because he was poor. So I don't care what happened before... I just want to know, what's going on from here?

If I ever start my own company, you can sure as hell bet that will be my philosophy. Excuses don't make the cut. I guess my stepdad's old boss used to say "I don't care about the problem, tell me the solution."

I strongly live by those.

I hope this helps some people... Just remember, no one cares about excuses... you may think I'm creating an exagerated generalization... but it's not. No one cares.

Open the windows... It's time to vent.

Okay, so I got an e-mail this morning from my teacher, telling me that we need to take down a video that I worked EXTREMELY hard on off of our website, and stop showing it to people because it is offending the regular classroom teachers at my school. I'm not mad at my teacher, or the admins that told me to do it... but the teachers that (and I quote) "be hatin on us".

The program I am in right now is considered to be a technology academy, it was started by my district at the middle school level to test this theory of Small Learning Communities, Project Based Assessments, and Technology in Everyday Life.

So, they started it for incoming 7th graders, they looked at WASL scores, Test scores and other things... and they were considerablly high. They said "Okay let's keep this going" and opened it for 8th graders... Two levels of this program were getting amazing WASL scores and test scores. So the second semester of the second year of the program... they used the mother school that hosted this program... and gave every student a laptop, and transformed the school into a larger version of the program; guess what?! IT WORKED!

So they said "well, if it works here... then it must work everywhere" so now, in 2009 every 7th grader has a laptop and they're demonstrating it... and even though I do not agree with it... It's still the implementation that the District believed in our program... so they used it!

I've said it in past blogs... but I'll reitterate. The classroom enviroment is changing. Teachers don't sit up in front and just sit there... Students teach themselves many new things every day.

So back to what I was venting about in the first place.

The person who (I have no idea, nor do I care) complained about this video had no right to complain to the school district administrators. Most of the reason why I am mad at them is becuase they had to go out of their way to complain about it. The Admins and my teachers only complied with what they had to for their jobs.

I dont know what makes them think that we think we are elitists. I mean, we were test subjects that passed the test.

I really am going to miss that video; I put bytes of my blood, sweat, and tears in there...

However, I love the challange of making the next one.

Soceity Lecture

Okay; here we go... I've been thinking about the philosophies, and here is mine. It's "Walkerism" great name, even better solutions.

The basis of Walkerism, is that we all stive for 1 common goal, success of humanity.

The technology will supplement soceity; computers will be for organization.

Going Ubuntu

Well, I'm done with windows vista... It's giving me too many issues, that I would have to use illegal measures to fix. So Asta La Vista!... Vista!

Tech Blog

Technology Essay/Blog

Disclaimer: This is going to be a very long blog… I’m going to make almost all of the paragraphs independent, and not rely on the other portions of the essay to understand parts of it.

Today was KSD STEP’s (Student Technology Educational Partnership) last meeting of the 2008-2009 school year. We had our end of year celebration at the administration offices and it was pretty fun. We had one of the Information engineers (lead computer guy) come and talk to us about what we do, and what we are in for as students.

STEP isn’t based on technology, it’s based on the future… which is technology. I found out today that my school district’s website was entered into the Smithsonian institute for how technologically advanced it was… that was in 1995. My fellow group members are very amazing and outstanding students. Some produce great films, others know a motherboard like the back of their hand, and others interested in networks and other technical developments. I fall under almost all of those categories on minor levels; I know how to use video editing software, I could build a computer from scratch, and I’ve even got some networking in me… I just haven’t found my sweet spot for technology, I’m more of an innovator; and trying to get people into technology.

The traditional structure of the classroom has changed, we’ve gone from “I’m the teacher, you’ll do as I say, and learn what I teach” to “I’m the teacher, I’m here to help you, here is what our goal to achieve is, here are the instructions, if you need help ask questions.” Students have access to so much technology that we can learn virtually anything we want to, we just need to set our minds to it.

The United States has a large advantage due to a previously strong economy and a strong abundance of technological developments. So many people have access to computers and the internet, which helps to support stronger educations. A majority of my knowledge in the computer sciences field has come from surfing the internet and absorbing what I see and applying it in real life. Many people are trying to limit, and turn the internet into a business. I cannot support any of those, because I believe that the one thing that needs to remain open is our internet.

I’ve heard it from two significant people now… an IT administrator, and my freshman English teacher. I know everyone is talking about it, however today it sunk in pretty deep. There is this new theory that is going around “The world is becoming flat” and according to the evidence I’ve seen, I can support that claim. China has 1,330,044,544 citizens, and India has 1,147,995,904 and the United States has 304,059,724.
Now more than ever, the youth of America needs to get into gear and education needs to be a high priority. The famous “bell curve” along with the populations of the world’s leading countries tell us that the United States is going to be behind in the long run. In a few years, India will have as many people graduating with PhD’s as the United States will have graduating; from what I’ve seen. The youth of “tomorrow” is going to be left in the dust cloud left from India and China’s taking all of the high tech, high paying jobs.

Right now, our software relies on a numerous amount of things that can cause our computers to lock up and crash, however many companies like Microsoft and Amazon are creating these “clouds” which is in a nutshell… using their servers for our programs. For example… if you needed to render a video, you could use Microsoft FrontLoad (just an example software… nothing is called FrontLoad) which creates videos, and you press a button, it sends your files to their servers, and they render your video in ¼ the time it would take running on your hardware.

This could mean wonder’s for businesses, schools, and other orgizations for rendering videos, compiling software and other things. I can see the slogan for Microsoft FrontLoad now… “Imagine having the world’s most powerful supercomputer, in your room.”

You can see that technology hasn’t stopped moving forward, so neither should we. Though the world belongs to everyone we should all take pride in what our nation can do.

Funny poem if you aren't a morning person

I woke early one morning,
The earth lay cool and still
When suddenly a tiny bird
Perched on my window sill,
He sang a song so lovely
So carefree and so gay,
That slowly all my troubles
Began to slip away.
He sang of far off places
Of laughter and of fun,
It seemed his very trilling,
brought up the morning sun.
I stirred beneath the covers
Crept slowly out of bed,
Then gently shut the window
And crushed his fucking head.
I'm not a morning person

In Response to: "To My dearest loved ones"

You aren't a buttjack. We've all got our ups and downs. Tech academy drives us into the ground and without our support groups we'd not make it through the days. I am super thankful for all of my peoples to. We complain to eachother and all of that and we all have good ideas of what each other are going through. I think we'd just crumble without it. Our teachers, pull us together by making us hate their assignments... together. It's been that way sense 7th grade and I love it.

I'm going to start another post soon. :) so

Live long and prosper

Plan for next coming years

High school is... complicated.

I've talked with alot of people about this and the reoccuring theme is that people said it wasn't that hard... and that it was only them, because of other stuff... but really it is hard, just the transisition from MS to HS.

One thing is that we don't listen to our teachers very well... they warn us and we ignore them; then we scramble to get things done while they laugh at us.

Next year, I am going to be more organized with my paper... I am going to do all of my homework.

Quotes

"You don't defeat an empire fighting by their rules."

This is from a movie, "Traitor" great movie. I reccomend it to anyone who is a "Thinker"... but this quote and and several others really stuck out to me.

This one is very true... can you destroy and empire fighting by their rules. In the movie's context its talking about America as the empire and they are suicide bombers. However, I believe a quote is a quote no matter who said it. Everyone disses Hitler, however he was one of the greatest leaders the world has ever known... what he did was horrible, how he did it was horrible. But he was able to make human beings turn against their own kind.

We cannot destroy what needs to be destoryed if we fight by the rules set by them.

Anyways, I'm gonna write another blog here pretty quick. Just gonna end this one here.

ASB Elections

So, I really need to find my own blog ideas...

but here we go, ASB elections today. Kind of a running theme for the elections are "I won't do anything that I can't promise, I won't bore you with my speech, and I am going to make our class the best yet"

Well my reply, bull crap, fail, and how?

ASB is the associated student body, it's organized to represent the students. I agree with our president-elect about making advisory classes have representatives. ASB is something that I was a part of in 6th grade, I was president by non-opposition, which I dont know how to take that... I'm still not sure that if I ran anyone would've voted for me.

I had corney slogans and all of that and gave the same speech as everyone did today. All speeches follow the same pattern, and I think we need to branch out. So here is my "too late to run for ASB president speech"

Hello Kent-Meridian, my name is Tyler Walker. I'm kind of the name without a face. I have dedicated my self to the Future Business Leaders of America, Royals Week in Review, the Student Technology Educational Partnership, and the Debate club. Many people know me was a geek, or nerd; mostly because I get excited about technological things that no one would. I am going to tell you the major things that I would like to achieve for next year. First, we have many clubs at our school; many of which that are somewhat cut off from other groups. I would like to create a "club" that has all of the groups presidents and one member from each group to give presentations about what that group is doing once a month either afterschool or during 5th/6th period.
Leadership is one thing that is required in a business, because high school is supposed to teach us most of what we need to know for the rest of our lifes."

You know what, I'm done with that because I have more to say.

One of the things that pisses me off, is that great ideas, and great people are silenced by ignorance.

I'm not going to say that "I am great" because that is arrogant, but in my debate class we are doing "student congress" which is when the class debates on topics around a table and votes on them. Most of mine which are very intellegant and are worth implementing. One was using a structured class room order, similar to parlimentary procedures. Everyone shot it down because... "I used big words" the other one I am suggesting is "Network Neutrality should be implemented as law".

A summary of it is that big internet providers, like comcast want to start playing with our internet. Their goal is to make a layered (tiered) internet that makes faster internet for sites that pay a tax to them. They want to play the gatekeepers of the internet. First, the tiered internet isn't just for people who make websites. If you are going to get this faster connection to the websites that pay for faster speeds... you have to pay also.

Bottom line, we need to make sure that the government makes sure big cable companies don't screw with our connections.

Formulated blog out of everything everyone else's blogs say.

I'm going to pretty much copy off everyone...

First, IB... To IB or not to IB that is the question... I am very faithful to the technology academy and it has been a part of me sense 6th grade when I first heard about it; I had dreams, and the technology academy is continuing to fulfill them. My favorite thing is that it's a small community that I can do things in, such as the promo video, and the website. I greatly enjoy that sense of togetherness that comes with tech. It's one the things closest to me right now.

And, I'll start off this next part by saying this... I want to be great, I dont care really what I do... but I want to be great at it. I'm obsessed with technology, and the way it evolves, I'm very quixotic when it comes to anything new, and conceptional; because it can be changed. I like change.

So, I'm afraid that if I join the IB program... my leadership skills and all that will be ruled with an international standard that we just sit and learn and very rigorus... It's kind of freaking me out.

Also, I'm trying to advance myself and teach myself things people goto college to learn, and it's hard... I guess, I just don't want to be an idiot when I get there and not know what is being taught.... *sigh*

Also, I had a what I believe to be stress attack during 1st period... I'm really going to come back next year with an organised self and able to dominate the 10th grade and kick some glass.

Ignorant humans (not religion this time)

Okay, time again for another rant.

I was sitting in debate class today, and we started doing student congress; pretty much like voting for bills and stuff for our debate class. It was fine till people started talking. Seriously, everyone wanted things to be easier. Now, I'm most likely going to swear because ignorant people piss me off.

One bill was "grading should be easier". What the hell? I have an A- in that class and I do my work. I don't have any empathy whatsoever for people who don't do their work and want better grades. One of his arguments was "It's just debate, its not like an english class or anything" well, dumbshit it is too. It's taught by an english teacher, and it's an credit course. If you fail the class it means you aren't showing your learning.

I gave a negative speech on the subject, and I made very good points and my teacher seemed to agree with me. No other students did... but I regard some of them as ignorant dumbf***s not all, but some. I'm not pointing anyone out specifically... so I shouldn't be getting in trouble for posting this. I'm just extremly pissed. Anyways, back to the story... Overall my speech was so much better than the other person's, and of course the whole class voted me down for obvious reasons.

Later I gave my speech, I said that the classroom should be run like a government, some what like my english class. It's a great idea having one meeting a week under a loose version of parlimentary procedures, which is how you hold parliment and business meetings. It's a good idea, I presented it well, and the teacher thought it was a somewhat good idea I think. But of course the ignorants just ruled over it and failed the bill; which is fine for me, we've only got a few weeks left anyways... It just pisses me off to the point where I envy those awkward hermits that live in the mountains... because I often think they are very smart, and I may eventually live like that. It's just difficult living with people who are so stupid. Everyone just wants the easy way out...

Don't get me wrong, I have my times where I dont want to think, work, or do anything else. It's my time to be "ridiculous" no one is ever always mature or always smart... we've got our stupid times and all of that. Why do you think so many geeks have those stupid "why would you ever need that" stuff? It's because if not, we'd explode. I'm satisified writing a 3 page paper of technical documentation, and then going to YouTube trying to get rick roll'd or myspace and chatting people up. It's how I work. But if someone asks me a question I answer it, if I dont know the answer. I find it; or tell them why I can't find it. Unless I'm running low on resources where I just kind of ignore everyone. But I believe that knowledge is our greatest tool, next to experience.

Blog blog blog

Well, I guess it's about time for another rant.

In science we talk about the sun and how eventually it will blow up destroying everything on earth. Well, its depressing... our teacher only helped by saying "but we will all be dead by then". And I realized that i'm not afraid of dying... I just dont want to be dead. It's got me in a funky attitude, I talked with Mr. D-mo about it and we realized that we don't want to be just another head stone... we want to be fudging remembered. I really do, I don't want to lose my legacy within my family, but I want people to feel something when I die. I will probably cry the day Bill Gates dies, I'm not going to lie. He is one of my personal heroes, not because of the money but because his dream came true. He wanted a computer at almost every home and he did it. He has improved my life in ways I cannot explain, one day I would love to shake hands with the man. It would be one of the best days of my life.

Now, I'm 'concerned' about our future because everyone is trying to be protected from everything that is violent and everything, but you know what? I don't care how violent it is. If it happens I want to know about it. I don't care how I feel about it, because emotions are emotions, the media makes the congress evil, the president stupid and evil, and everone inbetween. They're bored and need someone to pick on; and I am sick of it. I couldn't care less how much Palin spends on her clothes, I couldn't care less about something an actor did. People are people, there are two types... Man, and Woman; statistically we are different but we are still built the same in many ways, there isn't a perfect human, get over it. There are great ones, but they aren't perfect. On the news I want to hear about the war in Iraq, I want to hear about the school shootings, I want to know if a 5 year old was killed by her parents. I want to know because I do care. When I hear about someone getting killed, it strikes a chord within me, I can't just ignore it. Someone won't live on to see the rest of their life because someone took the law into their own hands... let me hear about it.

I personally cannot wait for school to be over, I can't wait to have a life again! Oh, it'll be great fun, even though it won't be. I'm a person who would rather be behind the scenes than attending a party. Such as today, I have a film festival and I was incharge of running our videos and live input. I'm much happier in there than I am out just watching things, I need something to do... so I don't know what I will do. Also, I really want to move out of this state. Honestly after high school, I'm gone... see ya, getting a 1 way ticket to anywhere but here. I've been here and done this... My first plan is to join the Air Force. Depending on how it goes, I'll stay in just to get college paid for and then get out, or stay in an get the benefits. *sigh* It's hard going through life now... but I'm working through it, and by the way, I don't care how much you say your life sucks, because yes... my family has enough money, I've got decent houses and all of that, but socioeconomics determine nothing to me. I'm an over achiver and go getter most of the time, it's difficult, but really I'm not doing anything it feels like.

Letter to the school district regarding tech academy...

Dear Kent School District Administrators,
We are a group of students from the Kent-Meridian High School Technology Academy; we’d like to start off by thanking you for providing this amazing program to us. We have gained much knowledge and work experience through our teacher’s methods. Every teacher in the Technology Academy was an amazing choice on your part. These teachers are all elite in their confidence and their goal’s are not just to teach us, but to prepare us for the rest of our lives. Us, as a group are only about 10 people large, we came up with the idea of writing this letter to you while the majority of our classmates were at an “inspirational” assembly to get back on track to graduate.

For some of us this is our first year, others our third. While we sat in our advisory having a discussion about the Technology Academy, we realized that the program was no where near close to perfection, which is to be expected. However we did think of some things that may improve the Technology Academy as a whole.

Many students in the technology academy take it for granted, using the technology as means to chat, or check e-mail during class. Teachers are not always able to catch the students as they do it, but we don’t believe that punishment is effective enough to stop this behavior from continuing. Other students, while not using the technology inappropriately, complain about the “too much” work we receive, while others are able to manage their time wisely and get their work done on time. We believe it is because not everyone is meant for the Technology Academy. Because we use projects to show our learning we spend much time working in groups, and these projects require a sense of time management, technical ability, and openness to new ways of learning.

For the success of the technology academy in the future, we suggest the following resolutions:

Taking scheduled blocks of time out of class/advisory to meet as a whole academy and work on skills that are needed for the future
Having community members give advice for different job fields
Having teacher/student led workshops and seminars on different aspects of learning, to share the knowledge that is contained in our academy
Using a screening process to decide who gets in
Similar to getting into college, having either a multimedia resume, or creating a project based on a topic given during an informational night
(add more suggestions)
We believe that these scheduled blocks would have a positive impact on the academy and help our students succeed through school and in life.
(Elaborate?)

A student judged screening process would be affective in making sure we get people that believe in the technology academy and know what they are getting into before giving a one-year long commitment to something that not everyone can handle.
(Elaborate?)
We thank you for reading our letter and (add something else here?)

Today

Well, today was pretty hectic and I kind of realized that when I'm busy it really doesn't help me at all.

Visfest meeting was productive, Debate pissed me off because the times were wrong. And I realized that my e-mail quote is somewhat offensive, so I've got to change it.

BUT, during advisory when everyone went to the FAIL assembly I stayed in the room w/ some pretty cool people, we talked about tech academy and how it should be and how it is. We realized that there should be a screening process, as Esther said "this is a pathetic academy" we should live up to our standings as an academy, we've got people who don't do anything during class because they "don't feel like it". I'm not saying I am perfect, there are a number of days I just want to fall asleep in a corner and do nothing, however that isn't every day. I'm a firm believer in the quote "Let's take some time away to be ridiculous" I'm all for being an idiot for parts of a day, its what keeps us sane. Yet there are people that have no intelect what so ever (that I know of). It's kind of like they may be smart but they don't want to show it because it will make them look... stupid! Which is insane, because I think that intellegance is the greatest thing in the world. I like Alisons quote, how nobody wants to learn, they want to graduate highschool, which doesn't help them learn. I believe that the way the world works is stupid. I have to say that I'd run this country a completly different way, but this earth is too big to have functional soceities. I really just want to move into the hills of Montana and live with my family, not living like quakers but living rather than exsisting.

Gah, I don't know why I blog when I'm pissed/stressed/tired, but it really helps...

Turning over a new leaf

*Long sigh of relief*

Well, I've got this weird feeling of being powerful and smart, while being weak and stupid at the same time... I've come to realize that there are so many people doing great things for their community; and I'm not. There are people who can do so many amazing things, that I can't. I realize that I've been spending my time horribly. I get home mad because of something someone said, or I'll get home tired and want to fall asleep, but I'm not supposed to. With technology I'm pretty well rounded... however I'm not an expert in anything.

I blow of steam by getting on my playstation and taking headshots at enemy infantry. It's probably not healthy... but I do it anyways. Then there will be times where I just fall asleep and have dreams that I'm cussing out people because of some stupid house hold policies. Then there are those times where I just want the dumbasses that are in my science class to shut the hell up. (I'd ask you pardon my language... but I don't believe I'm done yet...) It drives me insane to the point where I want to do individual studies in the hall. Then with this overload of everything coming down on me I've got to get ready to embrace it through the end of the school year.

So, I'd like to say... I'm done with all of the above. I'm ready to put school as the top priority, and to anyone getting in my way... may your god have mercy on you. I'm going to handle all of the stuff I've got going on... and BAM!

Life will be good again...

So know this, tomorrow I will wake up and not hate anyone, I'm just going to finish this year off good.

Quote

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."

Well, that about wraps it up. God was created in our image.

I have faith if I do nothing in school I will get an 4.0 GPA, does that mean I am wrong? When really faith proved my wrong and I got 0.0 GPA.

Doesn't it bother you that you put more logical thought into choosing a car than you do in choosing a god?

Yes, actually it would.

A man without religon is like a fish without a bicycle

Haha, very true.

The World is divided into armed camps ready to commit genocide just because we can't agree on whose fairy tales to believe.

How true.

And on the trillionth day, Man created Gods.

Not much to say about this one.

Prayer has no place in the public schools, just like facts have no place in organized religion.

I agree.

Stupid Ignorant Religious kids...

Okay, so I've got to put my little disclaimer in here...
I am not aiming this at anyone that believes in god, more so towards the ignorant people who have nothing to argue... intellegantly.

I'm tired of people telling me why god exsists... in my world, he doesn't. End of sentance, conversation. I do not care what you believe but when you push it on to me I'm going to fire back with science and logic. There is one person in particular that drives me insane about it.

If you're going to try to prove that god exsists to me... don't be stupid about it. I don't force atheism on anyone, well I try not to. But anyways, if you can logically prove god's exsistance I'll listen, I still won't believe... but you won't have me writing and angry blog about it.

What happened on 9/11?

I remember 9/11 very well. I woke up, and heard something really loud downstairs… I don’t remember exactly when I woke up, but I went downstairs. I was at my dad and girlfriend’s house in Kent, across from Daniel elementary. I went downstairs and our TV had the news on… but no sound, we had to get the portable TV for sound… I was watching it, with people running around screaming and the second airplane as I recall had just hit the towers. I asked “what movie is this?” my dad replied simply “It is not a movie.” I was… troubled at that point. Reality usually doesn’t hit in till later… and for me, it still really hasn’t set in as much as it should. It hasen’t sunk in that a group of people had so much hate that they were willing to give up their lives to support their religion and kill 3,000 innocent people.

Interesting discussion; I love you... the girl from mars

Today we finished Fahrenheit 451,
Overall great book, it really made some people think... however it was just a large headache for so many people. They just didn't get it. It's kind of sad really.

If you read my post in Thought Tour 2009 blog, I talked about mars... which in my mind is my little piece of paradise. I've only been there a few times, one that I remember well. It was at my cousins' church sleep over thing... I know, me at church... sounds like a conflict of interest right? But it was epic to say the least, it was pretty much 15 High-School people with some advisors using the church for a party... We stayed up till... maybe 5 o'clock in the morning. From 10pm-5am we played phoose ball, while discussing debate topics, what's wrong with the world, why humanity was setup to fail, and philosophy.
One of our advisors said "wow, listening to these guys; I should've voted for them in the election" or something to that affect. I kinda thought it was... odd, but anyways. So this mars place... To me it's state of mind... when a group of people start thinking out loud, and start to produce thoughts, feelings and emotions. It's when people put down their guard to produce thought in anything... it's not organized by rules or regulations... people aren't constantly swearing to try to get a point across. It's thoughtful, meaningful, inteligant conversation meant to be had.
We don't say "let's goto Mars" because, Mars comes to us. I useally think of it during the conversation but don't acknowledge it.

I believe the reason why I call this state of mind mars, is becuase of the emptiness of mars, its simplicty; it doesn't have advertisements constantly running or a TV running in the background. It's got vast lands... and it's quite amazing in its design. However, eventually as science proceeds. Man kind will screw it up some how.

And that brings me to the second part of the title. There's the song "girl from mars" by Ash, however Microsoft made an advertisement with a female singer, singing the song... and it was great. It kind of put me "on mars"

Overall, Mars is my favorite place on earth.

ASB Officers 2009-2010; Campaign Station

I'm going to roll out a new website for ASB people running for school offices doing campaigns as a business. I think it's a good idea, becasue the people get a cost effective website and it'd be something easy to have a good web designer make.

If you're thinking about running for next year, let me know. I may do a trial one for free.

I'm from Mars.

I've been thinking, and thinking... and I've came up with something...

Earth is the planet we live on... it's got so many things that can keep many people happy, it's got hot places, cold places, wet places, and dry places. It's enough to keep many people happy. However there are some people who aren't satisfied with it, well at least I am. It feels like there's a place where people can go to talk, gain knowledge, apply knowledge, and have fun doing so... The kind of place I'd like to live.

After awhile, I'm starting to think that this place... could be Mars, theoretically speaking of course. Mars is full of desert, nothing really entertaining for the average person; it's large places for people to think.

I'd enjoy mars.

You Retards...

I was just on myspace doing some analyzing... and from what I've seen... Most of the workforce of the coming generation is stupid and lazy. So many people are just blowing things off because "I dunno? I jus dun fel lik it" This lazy typing, and that mindset, has got me to stop typing in txt, and start using sentences. I've realized that so much of our soceity is obsessed with certain things, and I will not. So here's my resolution for... the coming weeks:

- No more fast food
- No watching (depressing) news
- Spend time talking with other people (in person and online)
- Develop new skills that would make me a valuable asset to any company

I think that's a good little chunk for now?

What I've Realized; which has now turned into a rant

I've realized that I love not doing anything, and that technology is evil; in all forms. I still love it to death, but it controls all of us. Anyways, I've got two (2) major projects due when I get back from vacation. Both of which I'm not very far on. I realize that this week should be about relaxing... but it's not. It never is; my life is always moving and I can never seem to get a grip on anything. I try to relax on the weekends, but no! Weekends are for getting things done around the house! I'm told that I need to spend more time with my family, but you know what? I DONT WANT TO! It drives me insane to see people who feel obligated to do things, like manners, SCREW THEM! It's friday night, I came home I'M TIRED; I don't give a flying bull crap if my elbows are on the fletching table. If I was anywhere else instead of MY DINING ROOM, INSIDE OF MY HOUSE; I'd be all for the stupid manners, but there isn't anyone I need to impress! GAHHHHHH!

I'm tired of these stupid little things that piss people off; like the "stupid drivers" don't spend time complaning about how many of them are on the road, because what are the chances you'll run into a different one?! 1/1; As for technology, so many people say that other people should be forced to be "unplugged". I think that's retarded. Maybe if the person LIVED on the computer, and had part of their brain plugged into a RAM Slot, but that's about the extent of it. People can voluntarily get off of the computer, nothing should force them. I also believe that people should live their lives the way they want, it goes back to John Locke's social contract: Everyone should have the right to life, liberty, and property. No one should have to worry about... anything. Life should be a happy time for as short as it is. So many people judge other people, well I on certain levels believe that is wrong. Everyone is on this planet and exists, leave them alone. Sometimes, all the time... I wish I could go away an live up in the mountains and become a hermit, with other people that are fed up with our society. It sounds kind of... suicidal (which I'm not), but I hate our world. It is messed up in so many ways. There are people critiquing this "Octomom" for having 8 kids... I don't care... it's just something that the news can talk about. There isn't anything special about it, it's just something for them to talk about. Isn't it sad that our soceity would be much happier arguing over politics and octomom, rather than discussing their accomplishments. Sometimes I think that people watch the news so that they can fill their lives with something they believe to be meaningful.

Recently, I read about the man who killed his 5 children and then himself... and I didn't really feel anything when I first heard about it, because it was just another headliner... and you know what? No one will remember it in a month. No one will think about the Father who killed his own 5 children, shooting them multiple times and then killing himself. The words "Death" "Murder" and "Kill" are all thrown around frequently in our society. So we don't feel anything when we hear them. You have got to imagine what kind of passion it would take to kill all of your children, the oldest being 16. That's like coming to school the next day and hearing about how "Bobby" won't be at school today, because his father killed him. Just because we don't know the individual people, the actions say something about our society... and honestly, it disgusts me.

I'm not saying that everyone should be depressed forever, and have ever ending mourning... no, that's not what I'm saying. What I'm trying to say... is Smile, have fun, live today like tomorrow you wouldn't be here. Hold the ones that mean something to you close, and the ones who don't far away.

I know I've jumped from here to there and everywhere in between, so sorry to the readers... but I had to say something about it. I'm just sitting here alone, and for some reason blogging makes me feel like I'm talking to someone.

:) so I guess thanks.

It's gonna be deep.

So, I've been talking to alot of my friends lately; and I kinda want to bring something up, but it's really awkward to bring up in normal conversation.

Topic: Who would you die for?

I had a dream, and kinda had an idea for a movie. Imagine 7 students, from different parts of the united states, who are kidnapped by an ex-military psycho, they are put in a room about the size of an average classroom "looks unmistakenably like Mr. C's room. Their captor comes over the intercom and says "6 of you will walk away from here unharmed, however 1 of you won't be as serindipitous (it was around the time of a vocab test... weird right?). "The one that doesn't make it will take in the head, as many men I've lost in war (I had watched "The Rock" and the whole, taking revenge for military was kind of stuck in there). Turns out the guy lost 7 men in war (in the dream).

So, they all start gasping, and watching the speaker. Eventually they all move to the edges of the room, so not to be anywhere near anyone else (because the've no idea who eachother are). the 7 people were kind of summaries of everyone I know, bunched into different personalities; execpt for the military guy. He came straight out of the movie... with a Joker mentalility. ("WSS") Anyways, in the end I woke up before anyone died, kinda disapointed me.

It got me thinking, that in that situation; who would I die for? and why?
It came down to this: If I were in that room, I would've died for everyone in that room. As for why, I'm not sure. It's not that I've got a death wish, but if it came down to 1 vs. 100 I'd be proud to be that 1.

I kinda compared it to when 2 families go out for dinner, and the check comes "Oh, no. We'll take care of the bill" "No, we will. We insist". I just don't know that anyone would oppose it.

I've got to go, I'm fading quickly over here, and I got lot's to do before spring break shoves it's nasty head into my life. :)

Happy trails to you... until, we meet again...

A picture is worth a thousand words? Let's see.

I'm going to take some photographs I find on the internet and write about them.

This is one of my favorite images out of every one I've ever seen. It reminds me of the strength of america in a single frame. Men working together for their country.

I'm going to look at some images of people in their "state of nature" when they are at war. When their guard isn't up psychologically, where they aren't trying to force a smile or anything. Because one thing I want to be able to learn is how to read faces, it's something people goto college for, but I'd like to try my hand at it...

This is a truly amazing portrait. The man in the front is watching the German soilders marching into the French capital. You can see the emotions in his face are real. The furrowed brow, the tear, and almost uncontrollable trembling.
The woman to the left of him is frightened, and confused. She looks as if she’s about to say something.
The other woman to the left of her is defiantly in a state of shock, brows raised., and watching in shock.

The man to the left of her isn’t as shocked as he is terrified, his brow is at a triangle, and he is frowning.

There is something very suspicious on the very right hand of the screen. He’s got a straight face. Other than him being a nazi, I’ve got several other guesses.
A) He’s interested in the camera, or cameraman; maybe tagging along, so he would be focused on the camera.
However, he doesn’t look sad at all, he looks content, maybe even contempt on his face?

April Fool's Day Entry

So, today was pretty odd, but that's not that suprising. I didn't pull any tricks, or have any pulled on me. So it was a good day. I did however find it hilarious that people started silly stringing the bathroom, and the halls...

Then they get taken away by the principal... "Here's your sign" anyone?

Java Java!

Well, today marks my first day on my large trek to learn the Java Programming language.

Wish me luck!

A Positive Influence

I was thinking the other day... "What have I done that has made a positive influence in my community?"

I only came up with a few answers, but nothing that really pops out. I started thinking... "What CAN I do that CAN make a positive influence in my community?"

So, I thought... and I thought, I ate, and I thought some more. I came up with something inside these parameters.

a) I'm broke, so I can not donate any money.
b) It's hard to get around without a car.
c) I've got technical skills.
d) I can get other people involved.

So here's what I came up with:
A website, that publishes works made by students, High-School and below. A space where they (eventually, for a fee) can professinally display their work, for others to see. Once the idea takes off, it I'd start charging for space, not to make a large profit, but to keep everything maintained and to continue growing.

It'd start out with some of my talented friends, and then expand. I've had ideas like this for awhile, and I believe I've had a lot of great ideas; just not the means to complete them. It almost seems that I've been waiting for someone to fall from the sky, and help me do everything; realizing how absurd that is... I guess I better get going.

School District Website Blockage Policy

Introduction:
Recently the school district's blocking websites has gotten out of hand. To limit this, I've created this policy that designs an acceptable blocking policy.

Article 1,
School Districts filters should be used to block any inapproperiate material, such as bad images, and video.

Article 2,
Social Networking, Video Streaming, Image Surfing site are ACCEPTABLE. If there is questionable content, spend the time to block that content.

Article 3,
Teachers setup class room enviroments to achive a better view of all student's computer easily.

Article 4,
A 5-tier blocking policy, that adds on to previous tiers
1) Only explicit material websites are blocked
2) Social networking
3) Chat and messaging platforms
4) Streaming Media and images
5) Only approved district websites

Article 5,
If students abuse the right to items in Article 2, they submit to a technology violation, and move up a tier on the 5-tier blocking policy.

**** School District, Here my roar.

Well, this has been a very long time coming.

Let me start by saying, My school district, is being very moronic. They are blocking sites left and right.

They even blocked their own Effing website! If you do not put WWW in front of the URL you are redirected to the "*SD BLOCKED PAGE"

There are so many things I could say right now that would very much please the Annonamous of the internet. However I cannot comply with that request, because this is a homework blog. Enough said. I will censor myself.

Anyways, so I'm going to go somewhat off track here.
We're reading the book Farenheit 451. For those who haven't read it.

Imagine a futuristic soceity, books are banned, and by banned we mean are burnt to non-exsistance. There is very few smart people; and the protagonist "Guy Montag" is a fireman, and in this soceity "Firemen" burn the books. He realizes through a girl he meets, that if his wife died, he wouldn't cry; it'd be just like someone on the street died. Marriage is just a social obligation, not something meaningful. Something inside of him clicks when he watches a woman burn herself, along with an library of books; she had the option to leave before they burnt the books; yet she didn't want to. That riles him up pretty bad. He actually starts crying, something unfathomable to him, why was he crying for that woman? While he was at her house, to burn the books. He took one, turns out it's the bible. His boss, the Captian comes over the next morning because Montag didn't show up for work. They have a very long conversation. One of the things that The Captian points out is that "Don't step on anyone's toes, you'll make them unhappy" and he reflects on how this soceity is a utopian soceity.

Now comapre that with the district censoring the webpages?!

They're trying to please everyone. Not the students per say, but the parents. You cannot make the parents angry, because that creates conflict. And we cannot have conflict in this perfect world they are trying to create!

However, history, and this book. Tells us that we cannot achieve a perfect soceity. Not everyone can be happy... When you please the parents by controlling what their children can access on the
internet... you piss off the students.

And my other point! Why can't teacher's manage their own classroom's by them selves?! They don't need the district to intervien. Well, In some classrooms maybe, but really?! A teacher with computers in the room should organize the room so that they can easily see everyone's screens. Or at least the "high risk" students, that they figure may do something bad.

So, soon I'm going to write out my first contract... it will be editable, by others. Comment on it to add articles, and then send me your name for this petetion. If I get over 100 names, I may do something with this... as in send the link. $50 says they block access to my blog.

So without furthur adieu, here is my list of *SD banned websites, and/or services:
*note this will be updated as I come upon blocked websites* and because so many (4) of my readers are in the same district, send me websites that are blocked that you've seen*

- Meebo
-Google Images
-Myspace
-YouTube
-Flicker
-Twitter
-Facebook
-DevianArt
-StumbleUpon
-Mispelling a web address
-Runescape

List will grow on!

Religion

I've talked with some people recently about religion and how it affects their lives. I myself am an atheist, undoubtedly atheist.

However, I will never deny anyone their right to believe in what they believe in. I cannot stress that point enough; because when I've announce what I believe, many people get defensive of their religion.

So the first stop on the Thought Tour, is religion.

I would like to ask the question "What is religion?"

Anyone can answer this, simply by commenting on the blog. I'm interested in what everyone else believes.

As for my beliefs.
I do not believe that I can pray; and it will do anything, I do believe that religion gives people a certain type of motivation. That praying gives them hope in hopeless times.

I also think that it's amazing that this non-tangible deity has so much control over our world; for example the radical religious groups that follow the bible by the syllable. Anything that causes someone to sacrafice their life to defend, uphold is something of amazement in my eyes.

The science behind web design

I realized awhile ago that I've remained neutral with my web design; I haven't learned anything, and all of my websites are starting to look the same. So I did what any one would do... I started doing more research; One of the things that I'm trying to get at with my web design is making it user friendly.

Now alot of people think that by knowing HTML they can throw together a website... and that is very wrong.

I just watched a video (like 2 minutes ago) about a research firm that did a study on eye movement and how we read. I think that is genius!

If you ask someone how they read a magazine they will probably tell you that they read from top to bottom, left to right. However, these studies show that we don't. We look at hot spots of the pages, and kind of archive them in our mind. For example; if you go to Seattletimes.com; and read some pages, your eyes will most likely travel from the gonzaga girl to the logo, to the FBI news story (or atleast thats the way my eyes traveled). With this information, web developers, tabloid producers, news people; can start to design for people. It doesn't matter how smart you are/think you are. Everyone scans... It's a way of life; you can through to see if there is anything worthy of reading.

Careers...

Well, I'm getting older, day by day... and I still have no idea what career I want to get into. After high school, I'm joining the Air Force to help me figure out what I want to do. I really want to start my own business, A advertising clinic, and a computer support place. I'd love to get into a career of designing websites, but that won't get me very far. I want to start fresh after high school, I'm going to say goodbye to Washington State and find somewhere else to live, that's not as cityish.

As much of a city person that I may seem to be, I really can't stand it. I'd rather live in a small town, running a computer shop or something down there. I want to live in a place that I can walk outside, laydown and look at the stars; and just think, or talk with someone.

My dream property, is 50 acres, with hills and ponds; a large 3 story house, with a little studio sized building behind it for my office space. As for security, I'd needent worry; my property would be so big that no one would bother... and those who did, I'd have great computer security monitoring items.

Afraid of thought

It may sound stupid; but I think that many people are afraid of thought. Or afraid of thinking. I try to ask someone something, and they just blow it off because they dont understand it at first. Anyways, that's my quick entry for now. I'm reading up on some new material for my stuff, so I hope you all enjoy!

Thought Tour 2009

Happy Birthday to ME!

So I've just decided through writing my HW journal for the night that I am going to get people to think. I dont know how; but I will. I've been wanting to do something big, something to be recognized for, for being able to think, not to use technology. I will inevitably use technology; but it's not my main focus.

I also came up with a name for it "Thought Tour 2009" A web series (probably a powerpoint) that will inspire people to think. I'm almost tired of people who don't think. Some people say "Why are you so smart?" or "I want to be smart like you".

To start off, I'll begin by saying this "I love all of my friends, they're awesome people to hang out with. However most of them are stupid. End of story." My definition of stupid for this occasion is more of a "Mildred" way of life, than a Clarisse.

Anyways, "Thought Tour 2009" will consist of tools to help people get on the track to thought. I don't know how exactly I am going to present this... it may just be part of my blog, but... I dont know.
